Welcome to Preliminary Research Evidence-OBESITY+. PRE-OBESITY+ is sponsored by the Canadian Obesity
Network/Réseau canadien en obésité and provided by McMaster University’s Health Information Research Unit.
PRE-OBESITY+ complements the Online Best
Evidence Service In Tackling
obesitY+ (OBESITY+), which provides access to the current best clinically applicable evidence
on obesity and its related metabolic and mechanical complications.
PRE-OBESITY+ expands
coverage to include preliminary clinical research evidence. Its purpose is to inform obesity researchers
of current clinical care and preliminary
clinical research as it is published, matched to your information needs.
You will find two types of articles on this site:
Clinical Care Research Articles
The best evidence relevant for clinical practice in the fields of
medicine, nursing, dietetics, and rehabilitation, with a focus on or strength in
obesity, identified from over 130 premier clinical journals. All citations are pre-rated
for quality by research staff, then rated for clinical relevance and interest by
at least 3 members of a worldwide panel of practising health professionals with
an interest in obesity. These articles are also available on OBESITY+. |
Preliminary Clinical Research
Articles
Obesity research articles identified from over 130 premier journals that do not meet criteria for
clinical readiness. They report an earlier stage of research in humans. These papers
are not rated by the panel of health professionals.
