These statements with low quality evidence of possible pre-procedure testing strategies don't change current management much.
What makes this article great is that it explains its terms as it goes along, which is needed for those reading without as strong backgrounds in statistics. Walking through how the recommendations came about and how to recreate them is very useful for the reader. This could be adaptable to other practice settings in medicine (including for hospitalists who take part in setting policy on resource utilization within an institution). As time goes on, this article may be less impactful (but right now, it is highly relevant).
This is timely guidance at the time of confusion and disruption.
